Since the first favourite things post, Steve has started sending me his finds from around the internet too, hence the title change. We have so many things to choose from, I could likely make it a weekly occurrence, but for now monthly will do. Here’s our pick of the best from September. Hope you enjoy.
How excellent would it have been to do a road trip way back when the earth looked like this?
This is one of my new favourite painters – and she’s only four!
These portraits of African tribes are phenomenal.
Sometimes we forget how beautiful England is. These photos of desolate beaches were a great reminder.
Edenland is one of my favourite blogs. She’s recently been in an out of hospital and this post on the average mental health patient is a brilliant example of her knack for poignant realism with a sense of humour.
These national flags made out of food are fantastic. Brazil’s my favourite.
Winners of The Humane Society’s annual chimpanzee art contest. Yes, that is a real thing!
This amusing article by Russell Brand on the absurdity of celebrity and corporate culture made my morning.
A powerful campaign against domestic violence in India using images of Goddesses.
Who knew volcanoes blow smoke rings? Amazing!
Wow! These birds nests from around the world are incredible.
Good for a giggle – people on Twitter overreacting about small annoyances. “Really sick and tired of this place using too much orange zest in my brunch mimosa!” And if you want to laugh more, have a look at this dog showing off his yoga moves.
And finally, in Steve’s words in an email to me, “You absolutely must watch this video of a bear walking around upright. It’s mental. Looks like two children on top of each other in a suit pretending to be an adult!”
Til next month
